Short answer: you most likely don't need a visa. Citizens of most European and Western countries enter Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days. Check your country in a minute at the official portal, e-visa.gov.uz.

Visa-free, 30 days

All EU member states, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UAE, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and a number of other countries.

US citizens

Visa-free entry for 30 days, in effect since 1 January 2026 (Presidential Decree No. UP-203 of 3 November 2025; verified with gov.uz on 9 August 2026).

E-visa

For countries outside the visa-free list: apply online at e-visa.gov.uz; valid for 30 days. Apply at least three days before your trip; check the current fee and terms on the portal.

Transit

Up to 5 days visa-free when connecting through Uzbekistan's international airports with an onward ticket to a third country.

Registration on arrival

Your place of stay is registered within 3 working days. Hotels handle this for you — simply keep the confirmations until the end of your trip. In private accommodation, your host arranges the registration.
