The details
Trains
The high-speed Afrosiyob links Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara: Tashkent — Samarkand in about 2 h 15 min, Tashkent — Bukhara in about 4 h 13 min, Samarkand — Bukhara in about 1 h 40 min. Between Bukhara and Khiva runs the fast Jaloliddin Manguberdi — about 3 h 22 min. Three classes — economy, business and VIP; the difference is above all in comfort and space.
Flying
Helps on the long leg: Tashkent to Urgench (the gateway to Khiva) or to Nukus saves a full day on the road. Domestic flights are operated by Uzbekistan Airways.
In the cities
Taxis by app: inexpensive, fixed fare, no haggling. For intercity drives, Ambassador guests travel by arranged transfer.
A practical note: sales open 60 days ahead, and seats at convenient hours go quickly — book as soon as your dates are set. For Ambassador guests, we take care of the tickets as part of crafting the journey.
